Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: August 9, 2026
Substox is committed to making financial information usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. Financial literacy is the whole point of this site, and it does not work if part of the audience cannot get at it.
Standard we aim for
We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That standard is also the benchmark used under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508.
Substox is partially conformant: most of the site meets Level AA, and the areas that fall short are listed below with what we are doing about them.
What is in place
- A skip-to-content link so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
- Semantic landmarks (
header, nav, main, footer) with distinct labels on each navigation region. - A heading structure that steps down one level at a time, with exactly one
h1per page. - Text labels or accessible names on every link, button, and form field, including the search boxes.
- Pinch-zoom enabled, and text that reflows to 200% without loss of content.
- Visible focus outlines on every interactive element.
- Background video that is silent and decorative, hidden from assistive technology, and suppressed for visitors who ask for reduced motion.
- Images carry text alternatives, and purely decorative images are marked as such.
Known limitations
- Company logos. Logos inside result rows are decorative and are announced only by the company name next to them. This is intentional, but we are reviewing whether some contexts need a fuller description.
- Third-party embeds. Social video embedded from TikTok is rendered by that platform, and we cannot guarantee its captions or keyboard behaviour. Where an embed carries information you need, the same information is written out in the surrounding text.
- Dense data tables. Some market-cap and sector listings are wide and can be awkward at very small screen sizes. Simplifying these is on our list.
How we test
Pages are checked with automated tooling, with keyboard-only navigation, and against the WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria. Automated tools cannot catch everything, so reports from real users carry more weight than any scan.
